Build the shot before you generate: a browser creative studio workflow
A prompt can say “rainy street at night.” It cannot easily say where the character stands, which way the camera faces, or how much of the sidewalk belongs in the frame. Those decisions are easier to make visually.
A composition-first loop
- Prepare references. Import photos, cutouts or blank canvases into an image, video, scene or moodboard workspace.
- Compose the shot. Arrange 2D layers, or place objects and a camera in a 3D scene. Keep elements editable while you compare options.
- Refine. Move a pose, paint a mask, shift the camera or rearrange clips until the intent is clear.
- Save or generate. Save the project without spending generation credits, or pick a model, review the credit quote and submit.
ArtCraft is one studio built around that loop: image compositing, 3D staging, video timeline tools, moodboards, private libraries and optional credit-based AI generation.
What stays free of generation credits
Manual arranging and project saves are the point of the studio. You can block a shot, strip a background or organize references without starting an AI job. Credits apply when you ask a model to finish, edit or train.
Practical advice
- Treat the composition as the brief the model will follow.
- Check the displayed credit estimate before every AI submit.
- Keep editable projects so the next revision starts from the same decisions.
- Use AI for polish after the framing is settled, not as a substitute for layout.
If your creative process starts with “I know how this should look,” a composition-first browser studio is usually a better home than a single prompt box.
